Seaham Hall donating hundreds of meals to the NHS for frontline workers
Staff from County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust have picked up an initial 200 free meals from the boutique hotel, which will be given to frontline staff to brighten their shifts at this difficult time.
The hotel, which recently won the gold award for Small Hotel of the Year in the North East Tourism Awards, is now planning to provide 400 meals a week for the trust.

The meals are the handiwork of Seaham Hall’s head chef, Damian Broom, and two senior sous chefs, Ryan Haines and Alan Vass who used ingredients donated by Seaham Hall.
The kitchen team has been limited to ensure social distancing was maintained throughout the preparation.
Damian said: “We decided that we wanted to try and do our bit by feeding the nurses. We’re cooking once a week and will be doing 400 meals at a time.
