Democracy doesn't suit
In June 2001, the Irish rejected the Nice Treaty by nearly 54%; the EU assumed the Irish “did not understand” and told them to do it again. The Dutch too were in the mood to reject the Treaty, but the EU refused them a referendum.
We saw it most recently when 61.1 % of the electorate in the Netherlands voted against the EU over the Ukraine question.

Hide AdWe have seen democracy overturned in many parts of the EU over the years, not least in Greece and Italy.
German Green MEP Rebecca Harms has called for an end to referenda across the EU because “democracy threatens the EU. It is unacceptable for a mob (sic) of people to be able to reject an agreement that was supported by governments of member states and their parliaments” (source: Breibart.com).
By voting “remain” on June 23 you will (effectively) be agreeing to remove all democracy from the UK because it does not suit the EU.
