George Washington gunning for Inter-County Foursomes final glory

George Washington will meet Eaglescliffe in the Durham final of the Northumberland and Durham Inter-County Foursomes at Newbiggin on Saturday.

The winners then face City of Newcastle or Bedlingtonshire in the finak.

George Washington battled through four rounds at Seaham to set up their shot at glory.

They secured 4&3 victories over Bishop Auckland and Heworth before pipping Durham City by one hole and knocking out Brancepeth Castle at the first extra hole in their Durham semi-final.

Wearside beat Hartlepool 4&3 before exiting by one hole to Boldon. Seaham succumbed 4&3 to Ravensworth, while Houghton also lost in the first round, 3&2 to Billingham.
