Emergency services were called to Sunderland’s Wearmouth Bridge today after concern for a person on the wrong side of the railings.
Coastguard, RNLI volunteers, ambulance staff and police attended today, Friday, November 6.
An HM Coastguard spokeswoman said: “We were notified by police at 16.40 this afternoon. There was a despondent person on the wrong side of the railings.
