Sunderland City Council pays out almost £1million in exit packages as 24 staff made redundant
Sunderland council let dozens of employees go last year, figures show, costing almost £1million in redundancy payments.
The Association of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers said job losses will continue across England because the Government does not see local councils as a priority.
Figures from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government show 24 exit packages, totalling £932,600 were awarded by Sunderland City Council in 2020-21.
