The win comes 12 months after its previous incarnation - at Barnes roundabout - picked up the very same award.

“It is a really good achievement,” he said.
“It is fantastic to win for the second year running. We just want to say a big ‘thank you’ to all of our customers who have been so supportive.
“It’s brilliant.”
For George, customer service is key - the shop is open from 9am to 6pm throughout the week, but stays open til 8pm on Friday - when it even does home deliveries.
We drew up a shortlist of dozens of Wearside’s best fish and chip takeaways and restaurants and invited readers to pick their favourite.

But when all the votes were in, there was no doubt you figured Redz was batter than all the rest.
George is delighted the business has retained its loyal customer base despite the move to its new home in the Galleries food court.
“We had the shop at the Barnes and we won the Chippy of the Year title , which was great,” said George.
