Swimming: City of Sunderland Masters make an impact in Yorkshire Open
Norman Stephenson impressed again, taking away four gold medals and two silvers in the 70-74 years category.
He triumphed in the 50m breaststroke (46.01sec), 100m breaststroke (1.50.72), 100m medley (1.40.37) and 100m butterfly (1.47.14).

Hide AdStephenson also finished second in the 50m butterfly and 100m medley.
Graeme Shutt picked up four silvers and Barry Robinson managed a gold and two bronzes.
Shutt, in the 65-69 section, was runner-up in the 50m butterfly (46.03), 100m backstroke (1.53.13), 100m medley and 200m medley. He also came fourth in the 50m backstroke.
Barry Robinson struck gold in the 70-74 section’s 50m backstroke (53.58), and claimed third place in the 50m freestyle (40.33) and 100m backstroke (2.00.58).

Hide AdLouise McLellan, training hard for the International Transplant games in 2019, just missed her qualifying time for the 45-49 years 50m breaststroke, ending fourth in 1.01.24, but she managed a silver in the 100m breaststroke (2.27.21).
Lindy Woodrow managed three silvers in the 60-64 category, in the 50m breaststroke (1.00.17), 200m freestyle (3.36.55) and 400m freestyle (7.29.32).
She also came home third in the 100m freestyle and fourth in the 50m freestyle (48.80).
Imogen Fife was second in the 18-24 category’s 400m freestyle (6.57.31), and finished sixth in the 200m freestyle (3.14.40).

Hide AdMark Robinson, in the 35-39 group, was second in the 50m freestyle (25.86), fourth in the 50m breaststroke (33.14) and fifth in the 50m butterfly (29.00).
In the 25-29 section, Gareth Orr was third in the 50m breaststroke (40.56) and finished eighth in the 50m freestyle (30.65).
Sunderland competed in two relays, claiming a silver medal in the men’s freestyle (220 years plus) thanks to Barry Robinson, Graeme Shutt, Norman Stephenson and Mark Robinson (2.30.51).
The mixed relay (72 years plus) side - Mark Robinson, Lindy Woodrow, Gareth Orr and Imogen Fife came in sixth in 2.43.06.
