The A1231 Wessington Way in Sunderland has reopened after a fire.

North East Live Traffic Tweeted this afternoon that the carriageway was blocked eastbound due to a blaze near Wickes.

A van was on fire but has now been removed.

Drivers were urged to find alternative routes and traffic was moving extremely slowly along Colima Avenue past the North East Business and Innovation Centre.
