Seaham were outgunned 9-5 at South Moor in Division One of the Maxim Cleaning Services North Durham League last night.
Steve Maratty (one hole) and G. Williamson (2&1) claimed wins, with David Patterson managing a half.

Wearside suffered a crushing home defeat.

Despite a fine 3&2 success from David Vest in the top match, Wearside added only one more win – from John Naisby (2&1) in the last match – as visitors South Shields cruised to a 10-4 victory.

Durham City were handed an even bigger defeat, 11-3 at Whickham, where Graeme Marchbank claimed the visitors' sole success – by one hole against Gary McLure in the top match. Dean Findley added a half.

In Division Two, Houghton bounced back to winning ways to outgun
visitors Beamish Park 10-4. John Ellison's 2&1 win in the top match was followed by successes from D. Bainbridge, N. Hogg, D. Southwick and K. Purvis.

Washington succumbed 10-4 at Chester-le-Street. Martin Kimber beat Chester's Craig Walton 2&1 in the top match, but D. Latimer was the Newtowner's only other winner. Suggett, Flinn, Eggleston, Ward and Waugh eased Chester home.

Whitburn were pipped 8-6 at Hobson despite wins from Hart, Robson and Jaggers.
