Fans took to messageboards and social media on Thursday [June 18] after receiving communication from their bank that a new direct debit mandate had been established by the club – despite the supporters in question having contacted both their bank and clubs to cancel their direct debit payments given the uncertainty over the fate of the new football season.
But the club have now confirmed that the issue is being addressed by ticketing partner Ticketmaster – and have told those affected that they will not be charged.

Hide AdA club statement read: “We are aware that some supporters have received a new Direct Debit mandate notification despite cancelling their 2020-21 season card.
“This was due to a processing error that has now been addressed by the club’s ticketing partner, Ticketmaster, and any supporters that have cancelled their 2020-21 season card will not be charged.
“Supporters that have continued the renewal process will also receive a new advance notice from Ticketmaster shortly, detailing the payments due for the 2020-21 season. This is because the 2020-21 campaign will be the first season for which Ticketmaster, and not the club, will process Direct Debit payments.”
Today’s update comes after the club yesterday announced another u-turn on their season ticket card policy following feedback from supporters.
