This is why ex-Sunderland striker Josh Maja could leave Bordeaux

L’Équipe are reporting that Maja has rejected a contract extension offer from Bordeaux, with reports he was offered a salary cut in the new terms on offer.

That could force the French club to sell Maja this summer.

Having sold Maja to Bordeaux in the January of the 2018-19 campaign, Sunderland are entitled to 10 per cent of the profit Bordeaux made on Maja, who still has a year left on his deal.
